Why join CCF?

Cross Cultural Friction is, before anything else, an online platform for students to share their passions and work, while showing dedication to what they care about. That means that unlike a lot of the platforms available to publish work on, we’re not looking for perfection. We’re looking for interest. As a young generation, what we think is important can deviate from what most of the people and powers with more influence consider important. CCF aims to recognise that issue and, to whatever degree we can, alleviate it. If you think your work is worth sharing, so do we.

We may not be a huge or well known magazine, but joining CCF gives you the opportunity to get your work out to a wider audience, an audience where you’re sure to find people with similar interests or goals. Besides, all huge platforms start small, and by joining our project you could be a part of that process.

So, here are some of the reasons why we think that YOU should join!

Extracurricular/Supercurricular Activity

because of the nature of CCF, if you are a student planning to apply for university, it’s a great way to show your interest in the area you choose to pursue. Working and being part of a magazine goes beyond school and displays a genuine desire to learn and to share what’s important to you with others out there.

Even just submitting a piece of work shows this further interest, but if you choose to become a member, you’re not only displaying long-term commitment, but showing you’re able to work in a community of people, one where communication can be especially challenging considering the variety of countries and therefore timezones.

Opportunities available

CCF is made by students, for students, so we understand that everyone can contribute in different ways, to different extents. That’s why we have multiple positions open depending on how you think you can best help out (these are explained in detail on our application), and we accept applications both for members and submissions.

Future possibilities

While we cannot promise any of the following, our vision for CCF is to grow to a much larger team of like-minded and committed students. Throughout this process, we hope to connect with alumni or professors from recognised and high-tier universities. We also would like to collaborate with charity or fundraising organisations in the future in many possible ways, including interviews, co-authorship, school-based fundraisers for them, and more. Through all of this, we hope to reach more people and make a greater impact, and by joining you could be a part of that.

CCF is made by students. Here’s what that means. We understand what it’s like to have passions and interests but for every platform to either be too exclusive or too hard to find the right audience in. We understand how important it is to show the extent of your passion and your dedication to it. We understand how hard it can be to balance school, extracurriculars, and other responsibilities. We’ll make sure that others understand what you have to say.
